On the last day of school holidays we made it out to Border Ranges National park to do the Rosewood loop.

On the way out Google Maps took us on a very rough road, Imagine our surprise seconds after crossing a small wooden bridge when a semi trailer came down the single lane road. It was a milk truck with a massive silver tank on the back. I pulled off the road to let it pass.

On the way back, Google directions took us the less shall we say scenic route. 🙂

We arrived at 2pm, At Sheepstation Creek Campground and sat at one of the picnic tables to have a quick snack and some water. Sitting there we were treated to amazing sounds of birds calls echoing through the valley.

We were worried about the sun going down and not being able to see the path clearly. As it turned out The walk was just the right length for the time we had available. It’s a 6km walk and it took us just under 2 hours.

Walking through rainforest and crossing creeks meant it was not too hot and not too cold as we kept a steady pace, chatting as we went.

Walking in nature, free from distractions like TV and smart phones, we talked a little about our goals for the coming school term and reviewed the last term, what we thought we did well, what we thought we struggled with, and things we wanted to focus on in the coming months.

All while enjoying the forest, looking at the amazing flora and commenting on the rainforest habitat.
